40-kopeck stamp depicts Mahmud Bagir Ogly Aivazov with first name misspelled as "Muhamed". A second stamp was issued with corrected name.

40-kopeck stamp depicts an inverted Czech flag, with red on top instead of the bottom half of the flag. A corrected version was soon issued.

3-kopek stamp depicts Olympic ice hockey with 5-sided snowflake design (should have six).

1971 November 16

10-kopek stamp depicts US Communist Party leader William Foster, with year of death "1964" instead of the correct 1961. A corrected stamp was issued December 8.

20-kopek stamp depicts Great Britain 1840 1-penny stamp with invalid corner letters "TP", as highest letters used were "TL"; a corrected stamp with "TF" was issued;
35-kopek stamp depicts Great Britain 1840 1-penny stamp with invalid corner letters "VK"; a corrected stamp with "AH" was issued.
