2-pence stamp depicts whalers about to harpoon a whale, but with no rope attached to the harpoon, the whale will get away.

2 1/2-cent stamp depicts Adoration of the Child by Gerrit Van Honthorst, but erroneously captions it "Adoration of the Shepherds".

50-cent stamp depicts Christmas angels, but omits the "H" resulting in "CRISTMAS".

40-cent plus 5-cent semi-postage stamp depicts baby in car seat with teddy bear strapped in beside him, which indicates the shoulder strap is used (incorrect) rather than the seat belt (correct). The stamps were withdrawn and replaced by a seat belt only design.

2000 January 1

New Zealand

40-cent stamp commemorates the new year; the partial world map contains many errors of borders (Pakistan, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Yemen, USA, etc.), and the 3rd millennium began January 1, 2001, not 2000.
